Register for the auction to get a new energy deal

Collective switching schemes are based on the principle of an auction for which any household can sign up, with no obligation. All the registrations are grouped anonymously and the energy suppliers submit their best deal. The energy supplier with the best deal will be determined during a 'reverse' auction carried out by iChoosr. The auction itself will take place on 17 May 2019.

The price offered by the suppliers is independent of the number of participants who make the switch. The more people who sign up, the more likely suppliers are to give an additional discount, so you might get an attractive energy deal. After the auction we will send you an email with the winning supplier's offer. You will then see how much you would pay for gas and electricity under the new tariff (based on your usage), compared with your current tariff plan. You then choose whether you wish to accept the winning offer or not.

Which suppliers will participate?

In principle any nationwide supplier can participate. The supplier has to meet several pre-determined quality requirements, enabling us to guarantee a smooth, reliable switch for the participants.

After the auction:

  • You will receive a customised overview in which you are notified of the outcome of the auction.
  • You then choose whether or not you wish to accept the winning offer.
  • Your details will only be shared with the winning supplier after you have confirmed that you want to switch.
  • If you choose not to accept the offer, you will not be contacted again about this deal.

  • We may email you about future auctions we hold but there is no obligation to participate.
